Limenaria on the south side of the island of Thasos is a quiet haven for travelers.

If you do not want to move during your vacation, but you want everything at your side, Limenaria is the place for you.

The Limenaria beach stretches for about three kilometers from the harbor with its colorful fishing boats and the impressive Palataki building up Tripiti on the western end.

On the back side of the hill is the Palataki is the famous Mines beach. There, from 100 years ago was a mine and smelting site, today is a beautiful beach “different” with hundreds of special items and artifacts to explore.

GETTING HERE

From Kavala

The ferry from Kavala runs to Skala Prinos and has a journey time of one and a quarter hours with a maximum of 5 sailings per day in the summer. When you arrive in Skala Prinos you will travel by either car or bus to Limenaria which is 23 kilometres away. Turn right at the ring road at Skala Prinos and continue past Prinos, Skala Sotiros, Skala Kallirachis, Skala Maries and Tripiti until you reach Limenaria.

From Keramoti

From Keramoti port the ferry boat arrives at Limenas (Thasos Town), the capital of Thasos Island. The journey time is 35 minutes and there are regular sailings, normally every half an hour during the summer. From Limenas, car or bus, turn right at the ring road and follow the signs for Prinos from there it is the same as the above directions (Kavala/Skala Prinos).

By airplane

The closest airport to Thasos is Kavala Airport (Megas Alexandros Airport) which is close to Chrisoupolis just 17 km’s from the port of Keramoti. There is an all year round daily service to Athens and during the summer hosts charter flights from all over Europe.
